Stamp colors can look different depending on the spectral composition of the ambient light source under which it is viewed. For a stamp color specialist, controlling and standardizing the viewing environment is paramount. Some specialists use a light box while other hobbyists control the entire viewing lighting. Either way, understanding the importance of ambient lighting impact when looking at a stamp is a requirement for a well-informed opinion to be made. You can use this tool to select the color temperature LED or other light bulb of your choice (this is marked on the light bulb package.)
